ABOUT LB

LB, my initials, just so happen to fit my motto, Living Better. I don’t think there is anything more important than living better each and every day, better than the day before.

I am that person, the one who is always up to something, the one you can call day or night, and if you are my friend …we will bury the body, no questions asked. I am never going to bring you an edible casserole or remember your birthday but I will pick up all of your pieces and parts wherever they have scattered and help you put them back together.

In life, you need to know your strenghs….

A college professor once asked the class to describe the type of job we wanted post graduation. I said, “I wanted a job like Oprah. She gets to ask people why they do the things they do.” He wasn’t thrilled with my response, however for me, here begins my unending quest to understand human behavior.

I think my sense of humor is my best attribute, I love to laugh so hard I cry. I am also an accomplished practical joker. My super power is finding the funny in any situation.

My very first speaking gig (in 1999) was a euology delivered to a thousand people in the field house and teleprompted to thousands more in other spaces throughout campus. This was the first time I truly understood the power of storytelling and finding the funny even in the saddest of circumstances.

I have found public speaking to be incredibly challenging, yet I know now, that I can never stop.  To realize that something you say, or the way that you say it, resonates with another human being is a powerfully addictive feeling.

I speak from the heart, about true experiences and back them up with analysis and research. We learn and grow from our recognizing and understanding our own experiencs and realizing that others have felt the same way.
